The transgender flag is one of the best known as it has very particular colours. It was set up in 1999 by Monica Helm and was hoisted for the first time in 2000, during the Pride celebration in the US city of Arizona. The blue colour symbolises boys, and the pink colour symbolises girls, the white stripe for those people who were born intersex and who consider themselves to have a gender that is not defined. The order in which this flag may be flown is not fixed and may change. As a curiosity, it even has its own emoji on the keyboards of mobile devices.
